The Money Section of the British Museum

Tom Hockenhull, Keeper of Money and Medals at the British Museum, is organising a very interesting visit for The Art Society Richmond. We will have a tour of two galleries at the Museum. The first is the Money Gallery in Room 68 on the Upper Floor encompassing a history of money (with notes on a history of money and medals at the British Museum), and an introduction to the current temporary display of a hoard from 1066 that the Museum is trying to acquire. Then we will move down to Room 3 on the Ground Floor and for a tour of the temporary display called "USA250" featuring the Washington Peace Medal.

We will have morning and afternoon visits starting at 10.30am and 2pm. Each group be be limited to 14 people. Going from Room 68 to Room 3 requires the use of stairs or a lift. We will be using Vox equipment so that we can hear clearly in case the rooms are noisy

Royal Albert Hall Christmas Celebration

Sir John Rutter's Christmas Celebration with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. Full of his own works and arrangements as well as seasonal symphonic classics and singalong carols, all conducted by Sir John and featuring the highly esteemed Bach Choir.

The seats are located at the very top of the venue (level 6). They offer incredible panoramic views of the entire hall, brilliant acoustics and a great birds-eye view of the stage. You may feel quite detached from the stage if you are uncomfortable with heights.

Because of the arrangements that the Royal Philharmonic insist we follow, it's best if you book your tickets before 3rd August.

Meeting place: Outside the Albert Hall between Doors 1-3

Meeting time:  2.15pm

The ticket that you will be emailed by Ticketsource will not give you access to the Albert Hall. You must have an Albert Hall ticket.
Pauline Tuft will be in touch as to how you obtain the Albert Hall tickets from her.

Please Note: We have been advised that the cut off date for booking is 3rd August.

Tickets are available at https://www.ticketsource.com/theartssocietyrichmond/t-ejlnxjl
